MK you consider it stuck.. I consider it awesome artwork!

What a fun piece and your hues of blues is perfect!

Looks like you have the whole crew there! You are living the dream of a true artist my friend.

First of all I hope your friend is ok. 2nd I am truly impressed that you made the best of your uncomfortable situation. You have created a master piece with a simple pen and a piece of computer paper. Superb creation with amazing detail and creativity. A six is given for your perseverance and creativity and determination. Did you share the art with the nurse who saved the day?
I hope she got to see your amazing work.

Yes he is doing better now and thanks for asking. No on the sharing..he had several folks working on him so I wouldn't which nurse. Seriously this is just a pen doodle. Spent many years in a hurry up and wait situation..so that is why I have my pens and clipboard handy to keep from being bored..thanks for the great review

Yes, I was almost right, someone took your colors and left you just with the blues.

However you have managed to create this happy and interesting drawing anyway.

I like the little mouse, posing triumphantly like she did all the work - maybe she did?

Good waiting room composition. I can relate to that scene. You did wonders with the pen. Cat look hungry! Wondering if you were easy to discipline as a child! Great details - almost hypnotic. Looks like the mouse controls the pen! Good focus and clarity.
Nice tone throughout this picture.
Fun to view.

Well I was adopted by my great uncle and the aunt didn't want me there. So I was made to stay in my lil room most of the time. No artwork allowed unless I'm doing something for school..so when I was sitting room with school books open to look like I was doing homework. Really I was drawing something in pen secretly. So at 16 I was accepted to go to Memphis Academy of commerical Arts . However, my uncle had it set up for me to go to West Point. I turned it down and made me look bad to the family. I was told that when I got 18 I better have job and somewhere else to live. No worries I joined the army in the 70's for the collage benefits. Pissed the ole man off..sad I wasn't trying to..the answer to your question..as long as I stayed in my room drawing and no one sees me or hear from me unless called upon..then everything was cool. Yep I know the true meaning of not be seen or heard around people. Kinda funny in the long run..for decades I was management in retail who built business in relationships..kinda funny for a guy who stay secluded in his childhood huh? Wink. Thanks for the great review

Intriguing story to say the least.
You seemed to have accomplished a survival instinct. A necessity of life.
And, put yourself into the 'art' of meditation. Well done!

First of all I hope your friend is OK. Then it must have been a relief that you could fill your waiting time creating this. You are just as good using just a ball pen as sharpies, and I had to smile when I saw the mouse in the picture leaning on a Bic. I am especially impressed about how well you have filled in all the gaps between the leaves in the background. A Bic pen is after all not known for its smoothness.

As always you have paid such a good attention to details, and you have created such great shadows. Well done Mark.

The format and framing is fine, and I actually like the all blue drawing. Well done

well bic pen can create a smoothness. you have to get that ball rolling in the pen..just something i taught myself decades ago. see actually i have been drawn with Bic ballpoints longer than sharpie. it wasnt until the late 90's before both Bic and Sharpie started offering more colors. from the late 60's to the end of the 90's the only colors were ever offered by Bic or sharpie was 4 basic colors (red, blue, green, black) thats it! i learned no other kind of pens will work with them. watercolor pens look sucky next to a sharpie and bic. im gonna give you a chuckle..when bic and sharpie started offering multiple colors i was in Walmart with the last wife. she went down one aisle and i came down to where the pens were at..when i saw all the multiple colors i screamed! the wife runs over to see why i scream and she told me i looked like a kid on christmas day getting the present he wanted...with a glee in my eye and surrounded with many packs of pens i said to her "I FINALLY GOT SOME COLOR!!!!" that was a lil over a decade before i joined FAR. now i have hundreds and hundreds of bic and sharpie pens..yep i am in Hog Heaven! wink..thanks AV for the great review.

wonderful waiting room doodle. I am much like you in that I start to draw everyone around me. It is so much better than just staring at them without sketch pad. Love the cat and the mouse and the hen coming up behind. We are very lucky, though all my thousands /over 5,500/ works have been robbed for members, families and illeg children of lab st barths human research members have looted mine with paid thieves and sell it as their own work. Love it, that cat in particular.

Damn Troop. Now That's what I call Not Burning Daylight. Very cool drawing. This is more than a Doodle as far as I am concerned. I love the little mouse holding the Bic. Great job! ~ Top

This shows again that some artists are born rather than educated. Techniques can be learned from a good teacher, but imagination depends on emotions. The ball point on computer paper turned out perfect. The use if line art and pointillism for the shading is outstanding. The characters are intriguing, especial the little mouse with the mischievous smile. The t6ight framing is sufficient. The drawing is well composed and framed.

Yeah my teachers were DC, Marvel, Warren Publishing and Heavy Metal..wink. I use to get stuck for hours in office waiting for my folks to get off. At that time it was just my Bic pens and paper with a lot of imagination..wink. thanks for the great review

Hope your friend was okay and good you got to fill in your time waiting - my daughter pretty much only uses artline pens for her work. Love the detail you have achieved with the single color ballpoint. :)

Yes he is.doing better now. Thanks for asking. Growing up in the 60's in the middle of nowhere art classes didn't exist. Since i was hanging around my folks at an office I would use Bic ballpoints to draw things to keep me from being bored. My family didnt see any value to art so discouragement was common. However I have always been stubborn so I kept drawing. Bic ballpoints are an old friend. Wink. Thanks for the great review
