Very interesting information on the eye of the eagle. You have the expression of the eagle down nicely. I would add some more shading. Some more feathers. Also I'm not sure what is hanging over the eye. It feels a little distracting.

Thanks. It is supposed to be a highlight but probably can't show up here as should. I did that for emphasis on the eye as it goes along with the info. I just drew a simple pic in my sketchbook then later decided to use as the eye is the focus, I hope. Thanks again.

The eye of an eagle is always impressive because of intense look and its brightness. I assume you used a photo as a reference, and this is the reason why a bit a feather is hanging down. I think it would have been better if you had left it out, because it is a bit distracting.
The eye is done paying good attention to details, but the all white head look very flat without any indications of feathers or shades. You should also have out lines the beak all the way round.
The all black background is however working well, because it makes the head stand out well.
I also like the close and personal approach and the tight framing. I fully understand that you wanted to emphasize the eye, but I still think you could have done a bit more with the rest of the head. Still I wish you luck with the contest Glena.

Thank you. Yes to all of your suppositions. It was just a simple drawing in which I wished to emphasize the eye. I could have and should have done a lot more later after just entering the sketch in my sketch book.

You are more than welcome Glena.

A very interesting way to draw the eagle. Instead in feathers all over. Just the top of his head has them. Nice eye. Big and bold. There is even a small feather hanging down.

Thank you, artist friend, I just did a simple drawing in my sketchbook, not much detail, just emphasized the eye more so decided to enter it in the contest. Appreciate your encouragement.

Wow! You have done a beautiful job with the Eagle eye and I thoroughly enjoyed the description as well. Learning how well they see is amazing! Wouldn't that be nice! No wonder they make such good hunters and fishers.
I'd like to see more details in the feathers, however.
But this is an excellent choice for the contest.

Thank you dear artist friend, Jewell. SO glad you are back from COVID. Well yet? How is your husband? Yes, it would be great if our eyesight were that good. In the hereafter with the Lord it will be.

Lovely line drawing, Glena, showing the profile of this handsome Eagle and thank you for the interesting notes accompanying this. The black background really shows him off well. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

It's a marvellous bit you drawn and you chosen one of the most powerful eyes to be depicted. I loved going through the elaborate description and yes, eyes of eagle and other such birds of prey are hugely powerful. You come up with such a beautiful rendition- apart from the eyes, I love the beak you crafted so perfectly. Kudos and best wishes for the contest

This drawing is well balanced and placed nicely in the frame. The black and white is an interesting choice. Your whites seem flat; perhaps more shadind details would be helpful. The eye, since it is the focus of this contest, is well drawn with nice shading details, that would have been helpful throughtout. I might have done the eye in colour, to make it really pop out at the view here. Best of luck in the contest

Thank you. I'll edit if I have a chance, at least color the eye although I entended this to be simple with emphasis on the eye. And, as one reviewer indicated, the whiteness of it cast against dark does make it inspirational. I'll try your suggestion if I can to see.

What a wonderful inspirational art piece... I refer to your technique of course and excellent outcome. Sometimes the saying "less is more" is so true and here we have a really good example white with black outline, background and feature marks. Its beautiful and very appropriate, you did a great job on that very realistic eye

That is an impressive eye, and the information to go with it enhances the picture. It is strong, and well done. And the turn of the head is one you see a lot with them. They have a regal look. Well presented!

a beautiful drawing Glena of this eagle with his ferocious look;
there are unfortunately two problems:
-a minor onr: something crossing the eye, better to remove;
-more important: ...
the whites are blwn out;

Well, it was just a simple line drawing in 2019 that I decided to enter, darkening some and enhancing the highlight. I thought of doing in pastels, coloring the emphasis which is the eye, and a beautiful woman's eye, titling "Eye Beauty vs. Eye Strength". Hope you read my research, article about the eagle's sight. Thanks for the constructive review.
