How gorgeous! I love the two tone colors of this flower. I'm not sure if I have ever seen one like this. If I have, I have forgotten it. Everything about it is perfection.

Thank you Mary! This was the first time I tried growing dahlia flowers and I bought these because they were suppose to be a deep red with white?they were pink instead but still beautiful! So glad that you enjoyed the photo and I much appreciate your comments!

Absolutely beautiful colors that show so nicely with the zoom option. Great details and such full screen presentation.
The dahlia with such symmetry and variation in the colors on its petals is so nicely captured by so skilled photographer.

Jodie ... Did you have to get a photo release from the insects manager, or was the bug free lance?
The colors you have captured with this composition are simply stunning. The color of the petals is bold and out reaching at the fringe then folding inwards through a progression of subtle soft hued petals shrinking to non-existence.
Just clipping the edge of a petal or two when you framed this runs contrary to convention which dictates that all the petals should be included in the frame. Thank goodness you didn't fall for that old line. Opening up the frame to included all the flower reduces the impact of the shot - no I like the tight cropping, makes the flower pop gives the shot its pizzazz.
