a good close up Jodi of this (I think) swallowtail butterfly sipping out of your hummingbird feeder; I like the good captured details even if the contrast is a tad too strong;

The Swallow tail butterfly, with the sun shinning through its already beautiful yellows and blacks is stunning. Like the hummingbird feeder, like a flower. The background is lovely with its yellow-ish greens and way you blurred the background.

A good looking entry posted into the competition posted here! Your fine and traditional composition offers us an enjoyable view of your lovely butterfly and bloom. Exposure and exposure are good. Nicely done!

This is a beautiful photo! The sharpness is excellent. The colors are so vibrant and beautiful. This doesn't look like a Monarch to me. It looks more like a Tiger Swallowtail.

This is a beautiful capture Jodi and at first I thought the butterfly was feeding from a red flower. I like the placement of the butterfly over to the right. And it's side profile view, well defined detail in wings and body.
Well focused, this image is clear, exposure is correct, all colors and tones appear true and natural. Well composed against the soft background. Well presented!

the colors and overall capture just compels me to award a justified 6 star. awesome that you dim the background to help the POV be on the flower and butterfly. the angle of the shot of this flower and butterfly with such rich colors just wows the viewers eye. this does present a strong initial impact on the viewers eye and hold it. Kudos!! the clarity is excellent. this image is well balanced and very eye appealing to the viewer. great eye and awesome work overall (standing clapping and cheering) woooooooooohoooooooooo

Jodie ... excellent color. Your mixed media skills are expertly applied. I can see lots of detail in the tiger stripes of the wings. Very good definition in the tails. The abdomen is well described but not so much for the head except the antennae and proboscis are seen.

Nice shot ... Bob
