I would say this is a black Panther , it is very well rendered with such good shape and structure , I like the way it is posed as it it is moving forward, well shown face and facial features, I love the green eyes and those teeth ! It has such a formidable appearance!
Very well presented against the deep blue background.
Very best wishes to you in this contest!

I am going with Panther, cuz I can't see any spots and I don't think I want to get any closer to try and count. Very nicely done The cat blends in with the night. The features are what is to be expected in the night. Good luck. Ray G.

Big kitty! A black leopard surprised me up close, face to face through some foliage in the high elevation Central American jungle. It really startled me as it was so close it could have reached out and swiped me with its great paw -- only about 3-4 feet away. The animal made no attempt to either attack me or run off, but simply turned and wandered on its way! That's one's eyes were yellowish amber brown though, and I think it did have a tinge of lighter brown coloring under the arms and nose, as though it might have been born with more brown in its coat... A very nice work! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you. And, thanks so much for sharing that story. Thank God, you were not attacked. I believe He took care of you. I know He did once when I looked into rocks right into the face of a Copperhead. And thanks so much for the "6". Means so much.

Thanks for sharing your story. I thank God you were and are okay. I believe He took care of you. I know He did once when I looked right into a Copperhead's eyes and face as he was buried in the wall. And thanks for your encouraging words and the "6". Really appreciate that.

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine and classical composition offers us an enjoyable view of that handsome black cat, out there, on the prowl. Colours and tones are good. Well painted and good luck!

It is always nice to see alternate approaches in painting wildlife.. The colour really speaks here. I also like body language and the facial expression of the beast. The details given in the notes are informative. Good luck!

wow what a special traditional piece of art with this animal, which is perfectly created in all the details and sections, seeming he warns us not to come closer - your background is also well created with a harmonious and special light and contrast application - a great idea and excellent piece of art - congratulations
