The well-lit scene is captured very well. The sharp focus and the DOF is outstanding. The katydid is exploring the petalscape with pure innocence. I love micro scenes and this one works so well. The The shade and shadows are well played. Nice shot.

Lucien, this is one of those shots that will leave an everlasting impression. This is proof that a perfect shot needs no enhancements. I love the beauty of the rose, all those shades of yellow, the composition, the inquisitive Katydid and the intuitiveness of the photographer. Pure excellence. Thank you for sharing and the best of luck in the contest. Ray

    Ray,

    Thank you for the complimentary review of my photo, I am pleased to hear you think it's perfect as a composition. Yes, in this case, I frame it correctly in lens frame, and it came out as I intended.

    I am using my artist abilities of understanding composition to take photographs that are visually cohesive in lighting, color, textual variations and arrangement of the subject within the frame.

    I take many shots at different setting and then I pick out the one that works the best without doing any computer enhancements, not even cropping the photo, as in this case.
    Thanks again.

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine and classical composition offers us an enjoyable view of both the bug and bloom. Like those soft petals contrasting well with the bug. Colours, textures and tones are good.
Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!

This content is again well created, as this close up shows us very well this tiny animal sitting on this yellow flower which is for sure well done as we can also see his huge sections in any place, so your content is even very well cropped as this created a perfect harmony, well done, xoxo

an excellent close up (some call it a macro) of this very strange insect, never seen before, perched on the petal of a yellow rose; outstanding sharp details;
