A great shot of this monstrous beast!! I like the point of view, almost at eye level with him. He seems to be staring the viewer down. Nicely composed and balanced with the ears near the top of the frame. These animals are deadly and can easily kill a human. But I still want one for Christmas;). A great choice for the "H" contest, all the best to you

I am a sucker for hippos. I I have a fascination with this massive beast of the water. Your lighting and the sharp capture of this handsome fellow is almost perfect. The tight crop gives us a great view of his detailed head features. The light reflecting in the water give a great DOF.
