Quite an interesting image posted here with revealing notes too. Your fine and full composition suggests to me, that the old poet is having a nightmare in his dream. Textures, colours and tones are good. Nicely created!

Thank you for your review but here is the intent. Calliope is a female muse and was the eldest of the nine muses in Greek mythology who inspired artists, poets, scientists, and musicians. This is one of her bright and colorful dreams. Ray

Greek mythology is not my strong suit. However, I did look up a bit of information in an attempt to help me understand your art. The violent circumstances of her capture can be explained in the complex design of this artwork. If that violence generated during her capture is illustrated in this work, you have been successful. I see confusion and struggle within the scene. So much for my philosophy.

I am sorry Gary, I should have included a hint of my intent. Calliope was the eldest of the nine muses in Greek mythology who inspired artists, poets, scientists, and musicians. This is one of her dreams of inspiration, all bright and colorful. Ray

I did read some of the back story of Calliope and figured out a bit of the story.

What you see and perceive from what I present is personal. It is the communication that you perceived and the fact that you felt strong enough to write about it, is whats important. Abstract is very difficult for most to comprehend, so they don't even give it a chance. Titling a piece is hard. So there is no right or wrong interpretation, whether or not you appreciate it is what I consider to be important feed back. Ray

I like this abstract painting very well. Your title is great as it does look dreamy. Great selection of colors, there's a lot going on, but everything fits in your creativity.

I enjoy abstract fantasy because it is a unique way of connecting the thoughts, ideas, hopes and fears that accumulate in our daily routine. When we dream our mind is in total charge as it rambles through its figments of our minds. Abstract fantasy is a way of recording the creation of dreams in color and shape, I consider it a journey.Thank you for your wonderful review and enjoying Calliope's dream. Ray
