Wow! That IS close!
This is an amazing entry for the macro contest. The detail you've captured is astounding, from the wings to the hairs on his back.
The colours are so accurate, especially the yellow/green iridescence of his back.
Very, very good luck in the contest, this shot deserves to win!

This is a beautiful, detailed bug with: the clear wings, the yellows, and the large eyes, as well as the antennae and leg. The greens are so nice, I believe leaves, that are such a stunning structure.

Oh my, I have seen hundreds of macro shots of flies and bees. However, I have never seen one this good. Based on the lighting, I am guessing this was shot at a fairly high speep and hand-held. Your lighting and crop are good enough to be part of the "Giant Fly that Invade New York". The details are amazing, and your critter is almost creepy he is well captured. Good luck in the contest.
