Completely amazing that this is pencil work. I can believe it took a lot of time and concentration. The likeness is remarkably good. Your copy ability here shows much skill. Your notes were helpful if a little confusing but this is a super result.

I'm curious as to how you achieved this to look so like like. I've seen other artists create similar art but mine always turned out to grainy lol. Hence why I went into digital art, digital montage and digital painting. Kudos to your craft! This is a cool image. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you much, artist Lynnmarie 2, for reviewing and your kind words. I did revise after I presented the work to her by changing the color of her top like was in her pictures I took, and a few other ways from my copy I kept. My "Dr. Zhang" did look exactly like her too but I didn't load the picture I took it from, along beside it. Have a blessed week and rest of your weekend.

Beautifully work my talented friend, I thought they were both photos at first! Such beautiful realism you have created in this portrait. It is a simple yet incredibly detailed presentation and I wish that I had a six left to award you! Great entry to the contest, best wishes my friend!

Like Charlotte I am also confused by your notes. I read your explanation but it was still unclear to me. Did you draw this whole image using colored pencils or did you enhance the original pic. If you in fact started with a blank piece of paper and drew the woman then I believe this is an incredible likeness. However if this is an image from the photo enhanced by removing the work pin etc that would explain the remarkable likeness. Either way good effort. Best of luck in the contest.

I drew the original portrait completely in colored pencil; then, I made a few changes to the copy I kept (back wall, more freckles, few others). Actually, I positioned the original to one side and redrew most of the portrait on my copy, like restoring, but drawn free hand. My notes did not load. I was trying to indicate the value of a head in whole body measurements. I wrote to the committee about my description not loading. They said I could edit that too; I went back and typed in the long description place what I could remember. I don't know if it shows or not. At times I've had trouble loading, even saving on the site. I usually copy what I write in the first and paste. I failed to do that this time.

Thank you so much, artist friend, for your review. The larger one is my drawing/painting and the small one in the inset one of the pictures I took to go by. Somehow my longer description didn't show up.

Hi Glena, I'm rather confused by this as it looks like a photo, but it can't be as you've entered it into an art contest! And I don't understand your notes either, what medium have you used to get it so lifelike? I'm impressed!

Thank you, artist friend for the review and sorry for the confusion. I hope I'll be judged on my drawing. As I thought I indicated in the narrative, I used colored pencils for the whole thing. In the work I gave her I did not do a smooth background; it looked more like drawing but mostly smooth. So, I decided to use the wall she sat in front of. I probably should surround the small reference photo with a box. I removed her job pin, and the top picture is the one I went by. It took days also as I revised the copy I kept of her portrait. I placed the top photo so viewers could see the reference and my work. I did add more of her freckles in the revised work and painted the dress the color she had on in the photos I took of her one day in her office, not telling her that I was going to draw her. I really intended to enter drawings of different whole bodies' forms in action in this contest, but it slipped upon me so I realized this could be used and bring in a little detail about how the head often is measured for height of a whole-body drawing, and so on, in many cases. I'm sorry this is long. I'll copy and use some of it should others have questions.

Thanks for the explanation Glena, it looks so realistic! Amazing work!

Ah I see you?ve now added more info in the notes, that?s good, it will help people realise it is a drawing and not a photo!
