I like this as a landscape and also like the story behind it but what slightly puzzles me is your choice for the flowing water contest because all we can see is the mist its created ,was this red earth part of the original river like you see when rivers have dried up on tele, guess it was but still stick to my thoughts on the content for the contest...brian

The red IS the river! That?s all very fast flowing water, it?s red because of the colour of the soil, and the mist is where it falls over the edge into a ravine.
It looks so obvious to me, perhaps because I was there, but as yours is the 2nd review that hadn?t realised it is the river, perhaps it?s not as obvious as I?d thought!

Apologys for not seeing that maybe a bit more clarity in the description would make that a better option, because it does look like soil in this one.

I?ll try editing the notes

it was just a thought

I like the colors in this photo. A lot of foreground. The name is "Raging River" all I see is mist. Sure waterfalls do create mist. All is not lost though. If you crop just up to the curved log or rock. You do have a nice photo.

The foreground is the flooded river!
It?s carried away all the topsoil, which is why it?s that colour - everything except the green in the photo is raging water!

A good looking image posted here into the competition! Your fine, full and appropriate composition offers us an enjoyable view of that dramatic location. Colours, textures and tones are good. Exposure and sharpness are fine. Well done and good luck!
