A fabulous shot Willie, and what an amazing stroke of luck!
Beautifully focused, showing excellent detail in both the bird and the flower and a perfect dof giving a stunning background bokeh that really makes the subject pop!
Very good luck in the contest, though I don't think you'll need it!

A beautiful picture of this male breeding American Goldfinch perched upon a Sunflower. The sunlight catches the sparkle in his eye while highlighting his golden plumage & the Sunflower as both stand out from the blurred olive green background. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

An interesting capture. The clarity is great. The capture of the light does give the image a dramatic effect. My first thought was "he stands alone!" Lol. The angle of the shot of this yellow bird is great. The presentation is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. Creative approach and awesome work overall.
