A beautiful picture of the Large Red Damselfly ~ Pyrrosoma nymphula on the edge of the leaf on which it's shadow is cast. The sunlight sparkling in it's eye & catching the shine on it's long abdomen. While highlighting the veins in it's gossamer wings & it's legs,
Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus. ( Had to look up to get it's name)

Thanks Brian, I cropped it like that specifically for this contest as I thought it was the shadow that made it.

Outstanding shadow on that damsel fly. It definitely is exceptionally good for the contest and best wishes in it. What a long shadow, actually more viewable than the insect itself.

It's huge isn't it! I tried to think of a witty title about monsters and such like, but drew a blank - hence the very boring title. Lol
