I don't think this is a cat or a dog, but I love the story behind the shot and the mischievous mouse as well! Very cute! Your son got a very good image of the little guy! Focus and lighting are both good! Don't know what the voters in the contest will think of the shot, but you can't help but like it! Good Luck! :o) Helvi

The competition small print said it could be any pet - so why they called it Dog and Cat photo contest rather than simply Pet contest I have no idea!
I took the photo, it?s my son who?s in it - do your homework Nancy! LOL

The composition is wonderful, it is well-focused, and, while your story clarified some details, this photo tells the whole story. I think he loves you. Happy that you got him back to good health but understand that a cat and mouse sharing the same home could be dicey.

Yes I set her free, much as I wanted to keep her I didn't think it was fair, she was a wild creature.
