Nice little shot Susan of this grebe,but it is not 100% sharp hence the four and a half,i know you take a lot of bird shots but i would take a leaf out of sanges bird photos and wait for the right moment to get something better,sometimes it happens if you wait....Brian

Thanks for your time in reviewing this imperfect photo of the Little Grebe or Dabchick. They were at the limit of the zoom on my Compact Camera It's a question of pointing in the direction where you saw them dive & hope they will come up nearby & then pray they will stay on the surface long enough to focus & click, before they dive again!.

They have long legs & unwebbed feet unlike ducks that have short legs & webbed feet.

Another great capture of the moment. The birds stand out against the greens of the water and again love the reflection. I would of given it a five but it is slightly out of focus.
