Charlotte,
A beautiful & atmospheric sunset picture over Alresford Creek in Essex, the sun's disc glowing gold behind the clouds with a sunbeam reflected on the water of the creek behind the Rook ~ Corvus frugilegus in silhouette against the reflected sunbeam The trees along the far shore in silhouette divide the sky & waters of the creek. Artistic composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
Good luck in the contest.

'Good Show',Charlotte!
If that was a Raven Id think that it might be one of those that are 'employed' as assistants by Morpheus
( yes,the 'god' of dreams! ) to escort chosen dreamers into his kingdom! ( and sometimes into 'the sunless lands' themselves! )
Anyway...
thats enough of my babbling!
It's a wonderful picture,my friend,and I'm enjoying it a lot! : D

You can fool me Charlotte, this crow seen you coming with your little black box and made a beeline to this post. You can't tell but I bet he even smiled. This is a beautiful sunset. Ray

Another case of being in the right place at the right time, and the bird has added that extra bit to this sunset as such, think landscapes/seascapes do need something in them just to lift the scene...Brian

Sunsets are a favorite subject of mine! During summer it's difficult to capture a sunset because sunset is close to midnight and the sky doesn't fully darken until late august,
This is so pretty, I like the warm orange and gold tones, it's a perfect placement of the sun over on left, good timing to capture just before it dips below ge horizon. That crow on the post brings life as well as adding another element of interest. I like also that the crow faces to the right.
Well focused, clear image with good use of the available light.
Well composed and presented!

absolutely beautiful!! From the deep oranges to the shadows playing on the water, to the wonderful image of the bird sitting on the fence post. Truly a winner in my books.
