Very nice! Both the bee and the flower. The bee almost looks like he is carrying a platter on his thorax. Its kind of like an abrasion scar , but I can't imagine where or how a bee would get such an injury, or live long enough to develop the mark.

Ah! This is beautiful. Congratulaions on your win, artist friend Bob. The petals with the artistic marks are gorgeous. The creature toward the middle at one view looked like a little man, but upon further viewing the creature, I realized what it is.

Love this photo! The colors are vibrant, the clarity is spot on, the cropped composition is perfect. Nice job catching the bee's shadow on the petal. This shot should create a lot of buzzz!

Hi Lisa.. This was a fun shoot, after I figured out how to deal with intense color of this Rhododendron against the Bee.

Thank you so very much for your kind words and great rating. I am glad you liked the post ... Bob

This bumble bee for sure picked a beautiful flower to land on, and I especially like how lovely the light is falling on it. The bee is also standing out well from the red flower.

The photo is sharp, but I still would have liked the wings to be a bit better defined. The exposure is perfect.

The tall format works well, and I like the slight diagonal placement of the bumblebee. It is a lovely and well taken photo Bob, and with a very good DOF.

Hi Annie.. I have taken your request for better wing visualization up with the Bombus in question. He assures me that when next we meet if I would be so kind as to remind him of his obligation re - wings, he will be delighted to present his wings to me to their best alignment.

We'll see, thanks for the review and fine rating... Bob

LOL - I am not so sure he will be willing to cooperate Bob. You are more than welcome for the review.

Very nice capture of this busy bee on the vibrant pink blossom. The bee is well positioned here and you have brought out nice detail over every visible part.
The flower looks like a Peruvian Lily.
Well composed , nice nature shot, well presented!

Hi Pat.. I only know this as a member of the Rhododendron family. The intense color and bright light drove the sensor nuts. After several shots and adjustments everything still had that early HDR-ish glare. Ended up with an Exp Comp of -.8. And there were still enough bees around including this guy.

Thanks for the words and stars... Bob

Excellent close up of this busy bee, Bob. I like how you filled the frame with this. Great camera techniques showing incredible detail in the markings of the bee. The vibrant colour of the flower makes an excellent background. Great composition. Suzanne

This is a totally delightful photo - striking color, detail, and composition.
I especially like how the bee has inserted itself in the stamens to capture the nectar.
Beautiful capture, congratulations!

This is truly an amazing photo. The red and pinks are stunning, the bee is both colorful and adds to the picture as a whole. I would give you six stars if I could. A winner for sure!!
