So cute and beautiful presentation.
The mom caring for hat babies, all the details and natural colors are so nice to view.
Great composition and overall pleasing presentation.

Really a nice shot of these endangered birds. You have given us a good sharp view of each one. With great lighting. Not sure where you were perched after reading your description. That might have been a great humorous shot of the shooter. LOL Well done and best of luck.

Haha thank goodness I had no one with me who had a camera!
Actually I was on one of the islands and was able to get the shot from the edge of the cliff just beside them - but interestingly you're the only person who's asked!
Thank you so much for your great review.

such a wonderful and endearing photo of a Kittiwake and her chicks. The detail of their feathers and there expressions bring love and joy to the viewer. Well done and good luck in the competition.

That's a fine looking photograph,Charlotte!
Besides the 'extinct and bizarre' types I'm not overly taken by Ornithological subjects but, hey, you presented us with a 'Good Show' here,my friend!
I like it!

The truth of it Charlotte is that it is probably too late to do anything that will save the species. Sorry if I sound too pessimistic but the changes are happing all around us.

In early winter it rains now so instead of snow covering the forest floor there is 7 to 9cm's of ice. The Deer can't feed on their prime source of protein the mosses and other lichens. Instead they eat all the low lying branches and leaves of neighborhood shrubs and ornamental plants.

That in turn deprives the migratory song birds of the cover they need for nesting.

Due to global warming the Canadian Daylily no longer grows south of the 45 parallel.

This is an absolutely flawless piece of photography. I so wish I had a six for you instead of a rant... Bob

Thanks for the virtual six Bob, it?s just as good :)

And no worries about the rant, I am totally with you on every aspect - it?s one of the reasons I posted this shot, as a gentle reminder to everyone.

Awe, what a sweet and precious moment you have captured here! There is something so special about images showing mothers and their babies, no matter what species it is!
This kittiwake mom is in a protective pose here with her two adorable little ones.
Well captured with good focus, this image is clear, exposure is well managed , colors and tones appear natural. Well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!
