Oh this is a fabulous wildlife shot! Very well timed, he's actually looking down the lens. Wonderful clarity that has captured so much texture and detail. I love how he fills the frame. This is worthy of a 6 and despite my best efforts to not give them out too quickly, I have none left. A virtual 10 though from me.

Thank you so much Christine ! It was so much fun to watch this guy, he would pop up and then go under and pop up in another spot!

Pat...I love the expression that you have captured on this Sea Otter. I would have been fascinated to watch him too. (I may get that chance next year!) Excellent details are seen of his face and paws. Great lighting and well done!

What a beautiful capture Pat, you can imagine being there with you as you take the image.
Colors are natural and the movement of water in background adds to impact.
Focus is sharp. Very enjoyable to view.

Thank you very much Mary ! It was fun watching this guy, he would pop up and float on his back and then dive under and pop up in another spot on the lagoon.

OMG!!! This guy is SO adorable Pat, and you captured such a sweet portrait of him! Love those bright eyes and whiskers. So glad he got closer to you so you could get this sweet photo. Focus and exposure ate excellent, and the rippled water makes for a lovely background!

Wow, what a wonderful closeup of this playful animal. Most of us are lucky to see them from a great distance on the shore. Somehow you got so very close, even with a telescopic lens. I am sure you loved watching him/her. It is almost like the otter posed for the camera or at least was aware of your presence.
Very enjoyable to view.

Thank you so much Allan! He is actually pretty close to where I am standing , he would pop up, float for a bit then go under and pop up in another spot in the lagoon. Otters are so much fun to watch!
