This is such an idyllic image, Susan. Everything, the soft colors, fading light, and the grazing sheep contribute to this peaceful pastoral scene.
The composition is lovely with the sheep positioned to the left; I like that the black sheep's attention has focused to the right. The background hillside conveys a sense of a wide grazing area.
A wonderful capture!

It is such a lovely atmosphere in this photo Susan. I think it has to do with the very special light and the misty background. You have pictured the sheep so well, and they are standing out so well against the background.
The photo is sharp and still it has a nice softness to it. The colors look nice and natural, and the exposure is spot on.
The format and the frame you have added is working well, and by the placement of the sheep within the frame, it is a very good balance in the composition. It is a truly lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

Sean.
Thanks a million for your complementary review on the Black Sheep alongside with two Black-faced Mountain Sheep. I have an Aran Cardigan that knitted using the wool of a black sheep...it does not show the dirt the way the white Aran Cardigan would.
