Wow Bob, that particular pollinator is razor sharp, the detail in his wings and fluffy head are an absolute joy to see!
The position of the bee is great as we get to see his legs too - and the tiny specks of pollen on them.
I know it's all about the bee, but maybe a wider dof would have sharpened up the softer looking of the petals - but that is a very minor nitpick and not essential as this is lovely shot either way.

Hi Charlotte.. Actually it was all about the blossom, the Bee just got in the way. I had planned on a thin focusing box for the central structures. My intention was to get as close as the chosen f-stop would allow for the center and out to the edges of the star burst, then crop the outer arms of the petals - but no, along came you know who. That's why he is so sharp

It was a strange and weird growing season. I have never photographed these flowers this late in the year. Everything else had passed but these guys just kept coming... Bob

I love the close crop on the flower so that it fills the frame. The image is sharp from the bumble bee to the edge of the petals...perfect.

I love the green blurred background as it really helps the flower to stand out.
