In the realm of traditional art, your techniques showcase a solid grasp of form and emotion. Each stroke on paper reflects skillful execution, creating pieces that resonate with a thoughtful approach. Keep honing your craft, blending precision with personal expression.

Thank you so much for your fine review, the first I believe, for me. It did take skill to do white and black with only one color, white, on black paper, by God's grace I always so. I wish to see your works also. Thanks for your support. Please take a look at my portfolio for other works, realism, etc. Thanks again and good to have you on FAR.

Very nicely done. Love your technique and its a great entry for the contest - good luck. The little one is really mad at mom, who seems to be in another world mentally. By the way - where did Sissy Go?

It is so good to hear from you, my artist friend Chuck. Thanks for reviewing and for your kind words. Sissy probably was allowed to go with friends her age--LOL! Thanks also for your fine narrative interpretation and best wishes.

The softness you were able to achieve really pays off and adds to the whole image giving it a sort of ghostly glow but it's really beautiful and the story bing told between the 2 subjects is also illustrated so we'll and in a really captivating way

Thank you for your review. I believe it is the first time; please come again and I look forward to seeing your work. One thing, with your fine review, I hope you will reconsider the .5 off. Thank you,

This is adorable and it shows the way siblings behave when they don't feel they have been fairly treated!
The little one is adorable as it looks up at its mom and mom's expression shows that she is trying to be firm with her little one.
The swans are well created with good attention to detail, good show of the shapes and structures of the swans as well as accurate size and proportions.
They stand out so well from the black background .
Well arranged and presented!

Thank you so much, artist friend, for your fine long and detailed review. I really appreciate you taking time for such encouraging comments and what is going on in the painting that I used one color on black artists' paper. I am honored and humbled when a gifted photographer such as yourself does this. Bless you and have a wonderful New Year with prosperity and good health.

I appreciate the work in this piece. A great story behind this, love the water effect, like the black and white used instead of colour, great work here

Thanks, artist friend, and dear friend, for your review and fine comments of encouragement. I appreciate your appreciation of tools and procedures. Glad to know someone else here uses the eraser when sketching. I did the mamma dove probably a few months back; then, decided to add the cygnet lately. Are things any better with your ankle, he cast coming off how long from now? Again, so sorry about your precious little dog. Fifteen years is like having to mid teens. Pets are family members anyway and love unconditionally. I know what it is like losing them and asked my husband not to get them anymore; however, the last one, Happy, was such a joy like Pewee, little dachshund, and Brownie the one that the boys grew up with. And yours was such company to you, would be with you more along. Did he grieve any, look for Ecki? Our neighbor's dog looked and looked for Happy for a while. They were such good friends, I wanted to write a booklet about them, Happy and Haziel, a unique friendship between them and their owners. Perhaps you could write many stories about your dog and/or family.

Great entry for the black and white contest. I am not familiar with any of these items: white charcoal and/or white color pencil and an electric eraser! The electric eraser sounds intriguing!
As far as the art; very lovely and well done. Cute story line in title!

Thank you, artist friend, for your review and interesting comments. The electric eraser comes handily when drawing and for taking away. I drew this one with the eraser going between the feathers and the eyes on top of the black Fabriano paper, 140 lbs. so that here I used only one color, White. This was my first time doing so. Glad you liked it, friend.

That is just like us when we don't get our way, why can't I go or why can't I have that, that is what I see in this piece of work. I could just see me in this, now as an adult I can see where I went wrong, sometimes the money wasn't there or I forgot about what I did wrong the other day. The dark background makes this stand out really well and I like the way that it is framed. Good luck in the contest. JackJr.

Thank you, artist friend, for your review and interesting comments. I agree with what you surmised. I drew this one with the electric eraser going between the feathers and the eyes on top of the black Fabriano paper, 140 lbs. so that here I used only one color, White. This was my first time doing so. Thanks also for your best wishes. I really need them.

Thank you so much, artist friend, for reviewing and for your kind remarks. This is the first time I used an electric eraser to bring out the background between the feathers, and other areas so that I really used only white.
