A very good opportunity shot the butterfly itself is startlingly good and well captured.... I love the way that you got the detail of those wings with such clarity..what I am finding
overpowering is the greens
around the butterfly, it is almost
knocking it out so this speak...if
the background could be faded out, I think you would find that
your beautiful butterfly would
really be stunning and really pop. I think the opportunity you
took and your presentation also is very well done.

This is a Zebra Swallowtail Buterfly. They are somewhat common here in Kentucky. I have made several shots of them. You did well with this one, well worth showing.

Hi Jack.. Kudos to you for a sharp well focused shot of this Black Swallowtail Butterfly AKA - American Swallowtail, Parsnip Swallowtail.
A close look at the wings where the swallow tail should be there are only ragged edges. As though they were broken off or bitten off?
Excellent color reproduction - nicely saturated looks natural.

Lovely capture of the moth - difference between butterflies and moths is that when resting the moth keeps wings open whereas the butterfly closes wings - also when flying the moths wings move together rather than separately. There are other differences but I forget what they are. Love the colors and your focus is sharp. :)

This is a fine bed of greenery. The few small clusters of flowers add to the scene and color. The butterfly is lovely with the blacks and whites as well as the light tint of teal on a couple of the whites. What are the reds?

I've never seen a butterfly or perhaps moth that looks like that, nature is beautiful! The flowers near it and the pops of color make it really stand out in a beautiful photo.
