The swan is indeed an elegant bird. This appears to be a mute swan. I love the way it is posed here and standing out from the black background.
Well focused, this image is sharp and clear and the light and shadows add further interest.

Informative artist's notes. Lakeland must be a nice place to visit and enjoy these swans. I like the dark background, but this photo missed the basic of photography when it comes to capturing the eye of the animals. This is an issue of out of focus and the light is also out of place. Overall, this is a great subject but just needs improvement.
