Eagles always look so serious don't they? You captured a great expression and slight head tilt on this one. You are fortunate to see so many eagles within photo op range! Love it!

Thank you so much my friend! Yes, they always look very serious, the very first time I had one close up in my lens , it turned its head toward me and I actually got scared because of that stern expression.

I will give a six for this assuming that you will remove white spot top left. Easy for someone of your talent :-) Wow what a shot. It's like he landed just in front of you in the light with dark night sky behind that makes him pop. Great natural colour with sharp focus, especially the eye. I like your composition. This bald eagle looks so grumpy and stern, like an old man. I love how its feathers created a strong contrast with the black frame. Excellent focus, angle, and lighting. The square frame fits well. A great shot and is a pleasure to view.

This eagle was indeed posing for you in a lovely way, and you have pictured it so well. I especially like how lovely the light is falling on the bird, and also the all black background. It makes it stand out in an excellent way.
The focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the eagle. The white balance and exposure is perfect.
The tight cropping has worked well, and the eagle has got a fine placement within the frame. I think this is a truly lovely and well taken bird portrait Pat, and with an excellent DOF.
