A beautiful stop action picture of the Bohemian Waxwing in flight while the other ten are drinking from the melting snow. Artistic composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Hi Pat, I have never seen so many Waxwings at one time. I think I've only seen 3 together at most. I would have said the highlight of this image was the flock but, the bird on the wing is the real star here. Love the lighting and sharpness of the shot especially on the open wings of the newcomer. Very nice shot and a joy to view! :o) Nancy

Thank you so much Nancy! Last week the trees in my back yard were full of these birds, there must have been hundreds of them , they are so flighty when one takes off the entire flock follows!
