Ray,
may I wish you a Happy St Patrick's day "Lá fhéile Pádraig sona dhuit!" your painting is beautiful with the candle burning in in a Whiskey glass surrounded by orange "Spirit" sitting in the soft embrace of green velvet. Created in your artist's eye for composition, very skilful brushwork, beautiful choice, blending & application of your colours in bringing this scene to life on your canvas

Susan, thank you so much for your wonderful review, rating and complements. I to use the Irish colors green and orange and the white from the candle flame. I think heritage is important. My Irish side came from County Cork. I have been to a few Feis and truly enjoyed them immensely. I am so glad you enjoyed the Irish Votive. Erin go Bragh. Ray

    Ray,
As I was brought up in England I have no Irish. I see my attempt to wish you Happy St Patrick 's in Irish didn't work the phone made "corrections" as it was not English.
My paternal great grandmother was born in Waterford.
My mother's family were from Castlerea Co Roscommon. Maternal grandmother's family were from Loughgall in Co. Armagh.

Waterford is noted for its crystal and is part of south Ireland. Longhall is in northern Ireland. You have relatives from Ireland even thought you grew up in England, you still have Irish ancestors. So Erin Go Bragh. Ray

A lovely art piece of a votive candle surrounded by green for St. Patrick's Day. The red around the candle is a great contrast to the green and the whole presentation is very colorful and clear.

Michele. Thank you for your wonderful review and compliments. I used the three Irish colors of the flag. Green, orange and white from the flame. I am so glad you enjoy it. Ray
