I like this piece quite a bit, a very warm, comfortable feeling.
I might change the placement of things a bit, though. Moving the cat slightly to the left, and the dog and carpet a little to the right and up closer to the stove might be a little more visually interesting and create a better balance in the frame.

I was drawn to this painting right away. The feeling of comfort seeing the cozy fire place, and the pets resting in the warmth. I can feel the warmth coming from the blazing fire. Great detail on the floor tiles and the fluffy rug. I love the basket and candle stand also. The colors are warm and inviting. The shading is wonderful too. Great job.

I love the compossition, and the detailes.
Nothing is missing on your work, the cat is lying just like a cat enjoying the heat.

Looks like they both know a good warm spot when in the house. They are napping in comfortable positions as well. Initial impact, story telling, color harmony and composition ver good. Good luck in the contest. Thanks for sharing your work.

Focal point of interest the cat in the background obviously takes dominance over the dog for the best spot in the house. Very territorial creatures. Colours are nicely muted for warmth. Composition has a feeling of contentment, trust and acceptance in sharing. It would be nice if you had painted more of the fireplace adding further glow and warmth to the mood. Well done! Keep it up!
