Simply brilliant. The was you have shown the young lady's expression and body language speaks volume about your talent. Would like to see more of your works. Very strong entry for the contest. Good luck!

Your pencils works are fantastic, writing reviews becomes subject to uniformity. Saying they are perfect pretty much describes them all. The realism is as close to photo as it gets.

Bret, my face is red. Wow. I must go back into your gallery and critique some more of your fabulous work. I unfortunately don't have any six's.

Wonderful work! You captured a look of ease and confidence in her. Beautiful face and love the way she looks at the viewer. The hands are so delicate. Great shades of light and dark. Beautiful job!
Did you draw the picture above your portfolio info?

This picture stayed locked up in my disabled portfolio for a long time. I was so busy getting my new life going, that I put my work aside for a while. I am back now. I love this site, and all the wonderful artists who take the time to share and critique.

This is well balanced tonally. I also like the crisp lines and the lighting which creates a beautiful 3 dimensions. The face reminds me of this photo by Danny Santos:

And I really can't get enough of late-nineteenth-century/early-twentienth-century style portraiture. This reminds me of the great portrait artist Albert Herter (http://bjws.blogspot.com/2012/12/paintings-by-privileged-american-artist.html).

Another amazing piece. The composition and concept are nothing short of amazing. The expression on the face of the subject strongly calls to the viewer to study more deeply to try to imagine what is on here mind. Outstanding and rich tonal qualities throughout. Excellent lighting. A very inviting and well done work. Thanks

This is awesome! The details in the young woman are incredible! Even the couch she is reclining on has exquisite detail! I would have thought this was a very old black and white photo! Excellent work=) Thanks for sharing it=)
