A very colurful and dramatic picture of the ocean.Capturing the force of the firmament which looks very ferocious, the waves forming the centre of interest with a well lit sky and moon between the clouds.
Great execution of movement.

THIS IS A VERY EXPRESSIVE IMAGE AND POETRY. I REALLY LOVE THE WAY YOU HAVE CAPTURED BOTH THE BEAUTY AND DANGERS OF THE WATER. THE MOON AND SKY HAD SO MUCH TO THE IMAGE AS WELL.
TRULY WELL DONE
THANKS FOR SHARING

Highly potent in conveying the dominance and power of the sea.
The sun from behind the clouds is looking down at its strength and majesty; menacing and foreboding in equal measure!

I like the idea here. The sky is LIGHT AND BRIGHT...but is STRONGER IN VALUE AND SHAPE then the wave HIGHLIGHT. ... plus...the viewer has no was to follow a ray of light or line to get to the water below.
Then...if the viewer gets to the water... then follow the yellow LINES... the viewer cannot READ THE VISUAL STORY about the LIGHT DANCING ON THE WAVES AND WATER... and instead...follows the arrows out of the COMPOSITION.
Keep in mind: When we compose a piece of artwork... "We are telling a visual story." (Much like an author does with words...only we use ... lines, shapes, size relationships, VALUES of light/dark... to express our visual story.
The lines and rhythm of value shapes GUIDE THE VIEWERS EYES THROUGH OUR VISUAL STORY...
In your visual story:
WEAP THE WILD WIND...
Think about how the WIND will BLAST UPON THE WATER... pick it up ....AND TOSS IT WILDLY.
Look at a picture, or photo of a story ocean... and you will see what I mean. (I live only 5 miles from the ocean, so my husband and I go to 'watch the storms.' WOW... the wind really makes the water TURBULANT...and demonstrates Mother Nature in a pit of PMS. TEE HEE...
Your painting idea is terrific... and I like the way your dark water shapes did not follow the line of the highlighted water.
Also keep in mind...when the water is thrown up into the air by the wind... it creates MIST... which would make the dark sky in the background much, much lighter...
This is caused by a misty atmosphere that has light shining through it. Then the sky and water would appear to be on DIFFERENT PLANE LINES...the misty sky background...the highlighted water is the middleground and... the very dark water would be the foreground.
Thanks for a wonderful post.

I really wish we had the option to print reviews. I thank you so much, AC, for the extended review on this, and I did try to fix it better. It's probably about the best I can do without starting over. If I was working traditionally on it, I would know which brushes to use to get different effects, but not that easy digitally. Most of the time things are very uncooporative...lol. Again, thank you. Have another look if you like. I am more satisfied with the sky and the blending, but I'm sure, still not perfect.

WOW...I took another look and what you did much improved it. Now the rays of light have created depth, interest and a delightful mood, that is quite gorgeous!
Great work. Thanks for the awesome update. Way to go!!!
hugs n' love ... to you...my friend.

I really enjoy the variety of your work. The consistence is very good of your creations. Nice color tones and strong initial impact with good story telling ability.

Simple and at the same time complex. Great motion to this (I had to run for the Bonine tablets)) I like the way you are able to manage the light.

You're not the only one, I get sea sick too, LOL. Thanks a million, Joel, for the wonderful review. I saw in the forum that you will soon be leaving, so I thought I'd better thank you for this before the end of the month. :) Gonna miss you. You are one of the rare reviewers who speaks his mind and feelings. Thank you ever so much for all your support. Drop back in now and then! Shawn

Very strong overall impression given here. I particuliarly like how the sun is peeking out through the clouds. Looks like a pretty strong and violent sea that I for one would not be out sailing in. very violent looking waves captured here. Great presentation! Excellent use of lighting and colors.
