You did well. The solid blue sky is perfect for this. Nicely captured Hawk with the high wing and extended body. The colors and clarity are nice along with the feather details. Love the eye and beak. Cyber 6. 'Enjoyed.

Initial Impact 5+

The Hawk is an Amazingly Fast Bird, for you to Capture this Amazing Bird, and having to use such a high shutter speed, the end result is Spectacular, I wish I had a 6 left. Tremendous Job

Nice capture, good job stalking this one. Good idea to use the high speed, but a little more depth and a little less speed would have given you a crisper shot. There's no background to bokeh anyway.

My reviews are set with "Blinders" which means the names of those who are being reviewed, are not shown.
Thus the reviewer does not know who the artist may be or if they are one of my Fans and so am not influenced by reputations of the artist. That way you get a fresh review or your work, as each piece is a new challenge.

Good catch !
That alone is worth 5 points.
A challenge for a photographer, is to make their work look as good online as the original subject. Reviewers can only judge what we see.

Many times an automatic adjustment in an editor can make a major improvement or make it worse and sometimes we just need to use an advanced editor.

Its the only way to make it look as close as possible to the original scene. Or the only way we can make it look the way we desire, using all our artistic ability. But, to have others see it as we do, it can only be done on a calibrated monitor, with a color managed browser, like Firefox, with the color managing addon. This way when the reviewers monitor is also calibrated, we both see the same thing.

Your work looks very good, on my monitor, it would probably would make a really good print.

Only thing Id suggest is a bit of sharpening. You could be surprised how much it improves the image.

When we have an advanced editor, like Photoshop or Gimp, and IRFanview, we can use the histogram to adjust Shadows, mid-tones and highlights. (Gimp has photoshop like features. IRFanview, is a good, but simpler editor. Both are free on the Internet.)

Your image has a lot of color. Like the yellows, browns, yellows blues, and blacks.

The light wings, grab attention, leading to the head and eye, then to other points of interest.

Your work really stands out, an exhibition quality print could be made from this.

Sharpening is important. With an editor we can sharpen to focus attention on a specific area of our choice. When we edit digital images, they lose sharpness, even just resizing them causes a loss. So a final sharpening after changes can make them look the way we want...

Your image could use some sharpening, just do not over do it.

Keep practicing or learning more and a year from now, you can be surprised at your work. :)

With 74 years experience, am still learning something new.

Some say they would not change the way anything is captured in the camera. They think of photos like a Journalist does, only recording reality.

Artists change anything which the creative side of their brain, motivates them, to express. They express a part of themselves into their art.

They communicate things, that no straight duplication does. When we communicate feelings to one or more people, we are successful. Money is not the only measure of success.
