Great looking shot. Fine example of animal photography. Your timing appears to be perfect and you have captured the curious look on dog's face very well.
Well done!

Nice shot of the dog. The details are very good, and the colors are nice. I think that the blacked out background does not work very well with this...it makes the dog look a bit scary. Nice job.

What a great dog photo and he has so much character. I like the pose and the background. Perhaps some fill or flash to open up the shadows in his face and give some life to his eyes? You could then darken the highlights so they are not burt out. Nice work on the background and you could even tilt the head a little more for a "cute" look. Thanks for sharing this unique photo.

Thank you very much. Like your idea about tilting the head. I vill not do it with this photo, but I will bear in my mind that possibility.

The initial impact is nice. The nose to be very in focus, however, the eyes are a little out of focus. You captured the full attention of this little guy. Thank you for posting.

Initial Impact: Animal portrait
Story Telling: Good potential based solely on capture.
Artist notes: Descriptive, however capture information has not been shared. Providing capture information helps the reviewer understand how the image was taken. It also serves as a learning tool for others. (Note: For Windows users generally you can recover the capture information by right clicking the file, selecting Properties -> Details and scroll down.)
Composition: Good POV to place subject at focal point.
Framing: Good
Lighting: The lighting is even across the subject with nice touches of contrast that add interest. The contrast with the black background and vignette has worked well here.
Color: Natural
Focus: Sharp
DOF: Works well to enhance subject
Bokeh: na
Textures: whiskers
Creativity: use of vignette
Comments: Overall a nice capture.
Thanks for sharing Annie.

I love the capture and processing of this furry baby. fantastic light, colors and focus. He seems to have such a level of unhappiness as opposed to curiosity to me. Thank you for sharing Annie!
