Sharp, focal side view with a good choice of colorful created, background. Perfect placement of the pup. Can't believe only 9 months old. Shows a thoughtful attention to lighting and correct exposure. Almost looks like a painting. A good capture-HEK

Enjoyed your narrative but I think you meant "Fussy" not Fuzz, quite different meanings. Gave me a chuckle or two, though.
Very charming face and capture with good crop and framing. Nice angle and you captured a great expression.

Good portrait shot! Good colors and lighting well done. Crystal clear image lots of nice details. Good expression caught as well. Only as a suggestion and it is just that, is I like the mauve coloring around him but I think I would have just done it 3/4 of the way around not on him as it takes away from the black which you worked so hard to get just right. Not sure if that is possible as I don't know how you got that effect, but I do like it. Overall a great shot of a lovely dog. Thank you for sharing.

Very nicely done. I know how hard it is to shoot black dogs. I have had several lab and now we have 2 Boston. It is a great pose and angle. The only thing I would suggest is to leave the collar off next time.

Good Sari. You are completely right about photographing a black dog or black cat; it is very tough and the light is tricky. Your shot works because of the angle allowing us to see some shading on her face and color in her eyes and tongue. She definitely looks like a good girl and this is a handsome portrait of her.

Good photo and especially, as you say, because she is a black dog. I've found the same issue with our family dog who is a black Newfoundland.
And the glistening wet nose is a nice feature too!!!
