I think that this may be the perfect entry. I do not believe anyone can see this and not be affected. In Wahington (?) there are a pile of recoved shoes..deep sad stuff, as is this. Donkeyoatey

This is a nice shot. The center of interest is very good and I wouldn't call it ugly.
It has history behind it.
Great story telling and very creative,the matt adds to this one. I usally don't like big matts

Your photo is exactly right for any Journalism photography! Just the image of these cases has an impact far greater than many a more graphic picture. It makes one think & I'm sure that was your intention when you took the photo. The fact that it is shot through glass does not detract at all from the message portrayed.

I don't ever feel there could be too much of a reminder of what happened in WWII. That is what I like about your art. It is such a sad time in history and we all need to be reminded of the evil you mentioned. The focus is clear and crisp. I like the framing you used. The rest of the picture speaks for itself.

Yes it does tell a horrible story of one of the worst crimes in history. I remember visit this area, but did not see anything you described. Very good effect you added to the image.

This is definitely the ugly side of life! What a powerful image. Makes a person thankful for what we have. I don't know if the vignette around the edge was something you added or was an effect from shooting through glass. Nice effect though. Give a sense of a distant memory, but one that should never be forgotten.

Thank you very much. I added matte to make the effect of looking into the past, or a distant memory as you put it.

I have seen one of these camps and it is amazing what they did to these people. You get such a strange feeling seeing all the things you described and to think that this is just one of the camps. I can't understand how another person could have inflicted so much on any one. This is an excellent picture. Good luck in the contest.
