Your effort, attention, concern and applied detail paid off. The goldfinch is magnificent. Love the tone, the texture AND the color.

You have done a wonderful job on this picture. The bird and such detail, which, as you say, is very hard to do. I love the black backgroudn that really makes this little guy pop. Great job.

Very nicely executed, as I read your notes. The colors turned out fantastic, I love this golden color, it works very well with the black background. Glad the goldfinch waited long enough for you to capture this picture, well done.

Love the black background. Definitely makes the yellow pop! I wish there was a little more clarity and focus on the bird. I love that he's not perfectly centered. It help add interest!

This is very well done. The Goldfinch stands out well against the black. His rich color as well as your well focused capture lends the image a strong impact. Painting the background is one solution to noise although that I think would make the image fall into mixed media. The other solution would have been to use a software program that removes the noise. Either way, what you did works and he is a beautiful color. I wish good luck in the contest.

Thank you so very much! I don't have a program to get rid of the noise excep for the despeckle in photoshop and that just was not enough!

No it wouldn't be. I often have to shoot at a very high ISO and after trying many software programs, I currently find Topaz Denoise4, the most effective without losing quality. Bren

Good composition and use of space. The editing you did made it look like a low-light shot instead of a bright day. Nice adjustments. The bird has a nice glowing effect. The image looks well focused and shows good detail. Initial impact is good.
