You did good with a difficult medium. And by difficult I mean that cat photographs are very common (there were 4 on FAR's front page this week). With something as common as that you have to go above and beyond to set yourself apart. This isn't a stellar, fantastic shot that blows us all out of the park, but you have done a few things very nicely to set yourself apart.
All technical merits are satisfied very well. Great balance and flow of imagery/invisible line. You have a full breadth of range for your tones and there is some good contrast. Not great; it would have been nice had there been a little more dramatic lighting, but the contrast is good. Your editing worked well. Blurring the background was a nice touch, it really set your focus apart from the rest of the photo. Creates some good depth.
You have a really good photograph here. It isn't outstanding, not something that really catches the eye and draws the viewer in... but a very good example of a crisp, clear and well edited photograph.

Thank you very much for the review. I am probably going to post another one of the same cat later today. I think it is probably a bit more artisitc and not as common as this one.

This is beautifully sharp. You were lucky to get an animal to sit still for that long. Those green eyes are gorgeous. Great colours in the image. But it's the sharpness I really like.
