Thanks for the explanation about something of which I was totally (but not so much now) ignorant.
Love the lime green against the brick. Also like the sense of depth front to back.

when i think of the mississippi delta i think of robert johnson. and i did know about morgan freeman and also his eatery. nice homage representing past and present. i can tell the older gent is getting into the music - i think he appreciates music of any kind and just wants to groove.

My friend, thanks for the the great artist's notes, I've not yet visited Memphis, but plan to one day. I think this is one of your earlier ones, you have refined your skills since I joined the site, but some of the areas are just amazing and obviously done with love for the city you call home. Well done my friend. Cyn

So this is one I can respond to first emotionally. I married a TN man and he went to art school in Memphis so I got a real tour. And I agree about the music. Best blues are delta blues.
that's my emotional response
Now on the art part: your paLette appeals to me. You chose a lime green against the red brick but it isn't garish. And while it might be cute that you have the old and new blues makers here works. As does the pole which shouldn't work but does.

Technically you know you are in comtrol so this is the type of reviewnyou get from me!

have ever seen a window that has been tinted a long time ago and gets faded to a lighter shade of green...this is blues city cafe and yes the tint is old...so i was taking an actual setting and adding to it..now if you werent here you would say that..but of course i would remind you of the above statements. so you hubby went to memphis academy of arts huh?..lol. thats was the reason i went into the army. i got accepted back in the 70's but didnt have the money, of course life in general stop me from going. never had no classes was hoping i could have been formed, but i had to do it myself like other thinsg in life..lol.. im glad that you liked anyway and do appreciate the great reveiw.

Should do well in this contest. Love the fact you have black and white people and the facial expressions are very good. Nice visual impact and best of luck in the contest.

When I look at this I hear Marc Cohn's "Walking in Memphis" The colors, as always are vibrant and demand ones attention! Nice job MKFlood, love your style!
