I like the colours throughout the picture. There seem to be something missing. I think that it needs some eye lashes .Hence the star rating.I think the beak has been done really well.Interesting write up about the subject.Good luck in the contest.

Lovely color blends and a lovely picture. I too have always loved owls. The rare sighting in our area of the Snowy White Owl i've never been able to capture. Have the screech owl and the great Horned owl. love the composition.

Very nicely done. Your stroke is very gentle and fairly well defined. Good contrast and great use of color here. Good tonal range. There seems to be a lack of depth around the eyes, they could have used a little shadow. As it is they look a little more like those little wound plastic that you stick on things. That is being overly dramatic of course, this isn't that bad. But a shadow would have helped create a little depth for you.
All in all this is a very nice work of art and an excellent entry into the contest. Good luck!

But I think it is a special bird having many physical attributes like non-blinking eyes, ability to turn its head etc. be that as it may, this is a very fine drawing you have posted. I like his eyes.
