He looks very intent in his eating. Love the vibrant reds and the composition is nice. Good clarity and detail in his feathers and I like the use of DOF to soften the backdrop.

These are intriging birds, I don't find them particularly attractive but you have certainly captured a good pose. The color is so rich and focus on the bird excellent. Like that he is on the right hand side of frame.

They say that Cardinals in particular are Songbirds that their color is affected by their diet

Very good close up, detail clear and in focus . Symmetrical two tone background nicely promote the beautiful red and black contrast of the bird . More light might have brighten up color but never the less a great shot . Great work!
