I very seldom write reviews on this style of painting because its just not my kind and I do not know enough of the Ink marker painting style.
This one got me because I see true emotion and an important message. The contradiction between the Inc marker colors and the theme is surprising. The pointillism is ideal for the sad theme allowing shading and darkening of color were needed. The main purpose of art is to reach the audience and give the intended message. This picture dos that. Best luck in the contest.

man i am floored by theis excellent review and considered that an honor for you to take the time to give me this review. i was ridcule while growing up working with this medium..other artist would always suggest the traditional mediums. i would hear things like juvenille...cartoon...or cant afford paint or chalk?...i saw the potential back in the 60' when they 1st introduce the flair pen with 4 basic colors...my love started there and has worked up to were i am at today...more colors...lol. thank you so much again for you taking your valuable time for reviewing this. i am honored.

Excellent contest entry! You perfectly captured the expression of despair and helplessness in the woman's face and the boy's position. I like the color harmony and I like the grayroad that leads to an unkown future. Good luck in the contest!

The colors and detail in this work is just stunning the efect of the harsh lines in the face depicts to me a hard life hence the name good work and thank you for sharing with us.

Really a very good graphic type drawing from the women and children's depression photo. Like the changes and the color harmony you used to recreate that photo. You captured the eyes and expression very well. To me very nicely done using the media.

Its really wild! I have had many comments either from depression era to the batter wives collection I think that is what she mentioned in the email. One even google me a site and its close not exact, but uncanny. I made the comment to one artist is that i felt like i was on the twilight zone and ill freak if i see a reincarnation of Rod Serling. It is an honor to be compared to any artist in the past both traditional as well as photography. I might have a chance before i ever leave this planet that my work would get the same recognition. I am happy that you have enjoyed this and do appreciate you taking the time in giving me this excellent review.

The expression has the worn and despairing look while the clothing is appears dated and probably from a clothing donation, and this helps set the tone of needy. Your colors are bright your expression gives this art a dramatic center of interest.
