This is a good close up photo of the bird. Hard to do nature photography with animals. They usually do not pose for us. You caught this one. It is well framed with him perched on one limb while the other draws subtle attention to the main subject. The background, the soft green works well with the picture.

very nicely composed, with the vertical and diagonal wood creating a frame, and the red talons contrasting with the green background. There's a glint in the eye and I like that the head is cocked right, as this creates a circulation -- down the vertical wood, along the diagonal one, up through the bird's body and then following its gaze back to start.

Again you have captured this bird in a great composition Willie. Great detail and lovely colouring makes it stand out from the diffused background. The only thing that stopped a 5 was the bit of tree bottom right.Mitch

Nice use of depth of field. Very sharp image. I can see the separation of the feathers on the bird's chest. Every bump on the branch is brought forth, even the little bit of fuzz towards the bottom. Great photo.

Great composition and use of space. I like how the branches bring my attention back to the dove. Nice colors and lighting. The focus is very good and shows good detail. Image has good initial impact.

Nice job Willie. Good natural colors and strong dof pops the bird nicely in the frame. Also like how you filled the frame with your subject. Good lighting and exposure control. Excellent lighting and exposure. Good technical excellence.

Very clear subject

I love the crop with the two twigs.
