What a great macro - perfect initial impact with the wonderful detail and clarity - very nice color and presentation - I don't see how it can get any better than this - This should certainly take top honors in the contest. I must have recently awarded your works six stars because it is not allowing me to now -

I absolutely adore this closeup view. Everything is clear and in focus. Nice detail on the eyes, back, legs, and feet. Looks like he has wings on his feet.

My word but you caught the thing in all it's ugly glory!:) It might be an ugly bug, but there is nothing ugly about this photo! A bit more risque than a butterfly...so clear, and focused. really amazing shot! good luck in the contest, though I doubt you'l need it!

Thank you so very much! The original shows all of him but this was for the macro contest so I had to do the tighter crop.

Given the extensive crop described, quite the remarkable shot and exquisitely detailed. Sure looks like a macro to me so you must have one mighty stable control of arms and hands. Does your camera have a stabilizer?
