You have put together a wonderful picture here, that is dramatic and meaningful.
Great light, and contrasts.
Like the the figure of Sisyphus struggling, how his head is bowed, his muscles straining.
Excellent composition
Like the color tones of this.
wonderful quality.

Your write up is so interesting. I like the way you have done this one. I like the way you have him in the picture rolling the boulder up hill. I Like the coloring. I like the way you have the light on him. An excellent picture. Good luck in the contest.

Beautiful captivating story telling composition. It is a very believable image of Sisyphus rolling the boulder up the hill. I like the vignette dramatic effect around the the borders which direct our attention to the center of the composition where Sisyphus is pushing the boulder. Excellent work with light and shade contrast. Outstanding color blend. Overall, very balanced evocative composition.

Well I don't give out many 6 stars but I had to on this. It has the feel and expression of fine art. The subject is well displayed within the story presented. I can almost feel the energy he is exerting to push the rock up the hill. You have expressed well the feeling of age in the tones and colors you have used. The impact is excellent with the eye being drawn into the scene and held there with a thought of can I help this man?

Wonderful story :)
Amazing interpretation.
This image is food for thought on many levels.
The lighting focused intensely on the work at hand.
The textures leave alot to feel in this image.
Almost forged in steel besides stone...tinged with the blood of hard labor.
But he keeps at it.
Thank you for sharing such an image.

I can not remember the story of Sisyphus or if there ever was one. I do remember this, if you roll an object a lot heavier you up a steep incline, there won't be much left of you if control is lost. That's the story tewlling part of it from my point of view. The mostly dark coloring is effective in creating a somber mood. It is nicely composed.

This is an awesome shot! The original stone is detailed and full of texture! I really like the tones of browns and yellows. Your lighting is perfect! The man definitely has that look of strain as he rolls the boulder. Thanks for sharing the story and good luck in the contest! :) Joan

WOW! Philosophy here we come. Your story with the caption, i.e., art work bring to mind a very famous author whom I met through his writings in one of my college lit classes. He was Albert Camus! Bummer he died so yound and on top of that it happened in a stupid automobile accident. Any way, thanks for this story and if you ever get chance please read "The Stranger" by Abert Camus. Also, his life is like the tale you associated the art work. He was born in Algeria and fought for his country's cause. What a man...I really felt terrible for him and his death at the age of I believe 56. Keep writing and doing your art work.
Sincerely,
John Hoepfner

Thank you very much for the lovely review and the generous rating. I once studied philosophy and am still so fond of it. Since I go to Greece for 3 or 4 weeks every year I have also red a lot about Greek philosophy and also mythology. I like to know everything about my favorite holiday place. I have by the way also red Camus's book "The Stranger" about the unfortunate Meursault.
