Love this picture. B/W was definitely the right choice. Beautiful lighting and captured the crashing waves perfectly. the darkened sky adds very well to the effect. My kind of image, well done.

Good choice to go black and white. Very nice action capture and great timing. The afternoon sun sure helped with the water. Good luck in the contest!

You deserve extra credit for sacrificing yourself and your camera for this shot. The wave is nicely frozen in time, and you framed the moment very well.

I agree, I love to catch this kind of action. The b/w does give it a tone of power and drama. Focus is really good with the water spray going up. Very nice composition and wonderful presentation.

Great leading line with the rock formation pulling the eye into the shot from the bottom right
The horizon is flat and the shutter speed perfect to catch and stop the exploding wave
Depth of field is also well done with a sharp image throuhout
I also agree with the black and white to enhance the feel of the image
Very well done, thanks for sharing

What a gorgeous photo. I have used your art before to illustrate poems. I am going to use this in the future as soon as I come up with a suitable poem. You are one of my favorite photographers on this site :-) Brooke

I agree that the b&w works very well for this shot and does make for a more dramatic scene. The spray of the surf crashing on the rock is so sharp and clear. Like the texture of the rock and it seems to show very well in b&w. Excellent shot, hope you got the camera dried out! great work!

Thank you very much for the lovely review. My camera is fine. Believe it or not, but I managed to click, then turn my back to the wave bending forward to protect the camera. Never knew my old bones could reack so fast. LOL
