This is a very beautiful picture and very creative. Because of the sharpness of the flowers, I think you are mixing two styles that makes me want to choose between the sharpness and the blurry style of the woman. I would have liked it better if she were sharp like the flowers.

Thank you, I appreciate your review and your input as always. I admit, I am a bit at loss with that. I painted everything in the same style and with digital oil brushes. I just checked on my original and can see no difference the flowers and bugs seem not more defined to me than the fairy. Our do you mean there is something wrong with the shading?
reply by BrooklynMyra on 24-Sep-2012
No, the woman is blurred but the flowers are sharp.

You mean the yellow flowers, don't you? I found out what is happen. They do have the wrong color. I used 50% metallic mixing it. [Meant as her magic tools]]. The need to be muted to the colors of the sunflower [her heat] I am going tho repaint that part.

such a wonderful construction. a great picture full of vitality and colour. i'm not sure how you make this type of art but obviously done with a lot of care and attention to detail. the placement of each creature and flower is delightful. the face incredible and beautiful.

Thank you very much! I am honored, humbled and proud about such a favorable review and high rating :-)
That type of art is made with a lot of time almost similar to canvas painting. I admit that I used a living person as model for my fairy. Painting after reality seems easier to me than to imagine faces.

Lovely image that you have created.
Great initial impact with all the fabulous colors. She can be my fairy anytime. Very nicely done

I really like this Cleo, it has such a happy and care free vibe. Lovely bold colours and sch a cheery expression on her face. How can anyone not be happy looking at this. The little butterflies are a lovey teach and I really like the whole style of the painting

I love the colours which go so well together. Although my only negative point is the size of her head to the body but i think the colours work well

Thank you very much for your kind review and your input. Well, even she is a fairy, she is painted after a real person. Her body and head have exactly the proportions of this person. There is not much of her body in the picture, but if you measure her face and her neck, you will see that it is also similar to the average proportions of a normal human body. What makes you thinking that her head is too big?
reply by J FLACK on 23-Sep-2012
No i thought her head was too small but looking at it again it is most probably her style of dress that has given this allusion.

Very nice artwork! Love the fairies around your center subject..
Nice use of color..And lighting. Great contrast and use of shading.
The makeup is done very well..Nice, sharp focus..I love this painting simply because I LOVE spring and this really portrays that season..

Thank you, I appreciate your review very much. [Just for clarification: I intended the center subject as fairy, the others are just bugs and butterflies.]

Thank you! Seems I somewhat made a mistake in the painting if the fairy dos not look like one. LOL.

Thank you very much! I try to get a touch of reality into most of my fantasy pictures especially when the come with a story what teach something like here. The children will love cartoon characters but may identify more with the story if it is mixed up with reality.

What a very colourful image! It has a kind of a glow to it, possibly due to the golden colours used. I like the pose and the woman has a beautiful face, especially the eyes and smile. The head dress reminds me of sunflowers, one of my favourite summertime blooms. I like the little touches like butterflies hovering and small flowers in various colours, plus leaves floating in the air. A great piece of work.

Thank you very much. You are right. I am happy you see that glow. I wanted and needed some magic since she is a fairy. The head is indeed a Sunflower. :-)
