love the colors and the phallic image ... could be wrong here as I don't see where the sun shadows are in the pic that the time of day (maybe mid day , could be way wrong here so forgive my projection) was not conducive to brining out the best detail

Yes very phalic isn't it. Nice bright and colourful image of the rock formation. I do think that the light was a little bit against you here. Side lighting is a good thing to show the shape of the formation but I think it has gone a bit too far round and most of the pillar is in shade. The rocks behind are brighter than the pillar and that is not reaaly what you want. Nice touch of green at the bottom to break up all than orangey yellow.
