This is gorgeous,I have to admit that at first I thought it was one of Sean's postings-lol! Maybe it's out of your comfort zone, but you definitely can't tell;like all your other pieces it's outstanding!Really looks like a photo, this is wonderfully done, love the lighting on the hood and the aging seen in the paint job as well as the dent on the hood, great attention to details throughout. Gorgeous background scenery to set this guy off.Superb contest entry,I wish you all the best!

Oh my goodness! This is so realistic, I thought it was a photograph, I read your notes twice to be sure! This reminds me of my dad , he was a mechanic, owned a shop and a tow truck, you did an incredible job on this one, it's well shaped and structured, the colors and how you show the worn paint is amazing, the details are so very well applied, I love the scene you have created behind it . This is well presented! I wish I had a six to award, sadly I am out. It was truly a pleasure to view this!

My goodness, I think you found your niche--painting old trucks, lol. This is fabulous, Cleo. The only thing I see missing might be more shading under the truck. But with the light coming from low on the left, there might not be much of a shadow. Ok, I just figured it out--the way you have the light, there would be a longer shadow behind the front tire on the left side. That would help make the truck seem more grounded. This must have taken you hours, you have so much detail
in this old work horse. I thought sure you would win the contest, or be right up there. You had my vote, dear friend. Exceptional job, Cleo. :)shawn

Thank you so much! I truly appreciate your review. You are absolutely right. I actually forgot to paint the shadow and never realized it. I was probably to tired, barely made it to the deadline. It didn't take not only hours but days. I really don't know for sure how long I worked on it. Since I used an previous panted landscape as background, and had the track scratched already on paper. I worked each night of the week on it. I guess must have been 30-35 hours. Maybe it would be a niche; but I prefer to paint living subjects, especially people.

Wonderful drawing - looking like perfect photograph - you really choose a very old style car - perfect to have a special item with many different colors to make it shining old - perfect color choice - great background choice, nature, fields of green and a pretty blue sky in contrast to an old rusty but still useful car - great technique well done

Thank you very much! It is a first for me. I never painted a car, nor anything rusting before.
