Well done in the story and revealing items that are know by so many. Great colors and like the clouds with small color dots in them. Just can not imagine this is down with Sharpie markers, thanks for sharing, John

Thanks john!40 yrs of practice does help..wink..btw if ya get the time check out the portfolio, now I dont expect to review of them but to get an idea of what I can do with a sharpie. I try to bounce around in a wide range of topics, but ill warn ya there is over 10 pages with about over 200 drawings done in the last couple yrs. Thanks for the great review

I like this upload, it's simple and I don't have to ponder long and hard as to what it is. KISS principle at it's best.

Great colour consideration and nice POV, you painted this while lying on your belly I see.

Unpretentious, smack in your face, well drawn, good realistic shadows and even without your name I would know who this art belongs to!

Over all I really like this one. Good composition and great color. I am impressed how smooth you can get the color with a sharpie. The one critique I would have is be mindful of your light source. Judging by the shadow on the ball the sun is at high noon where on the hat it would be lower in the sky.

Excellent work as always Mark. The details are wonderful.
The sports theme is a great idea.

This is really nice and really good. I like your chain link fence. I like the details you have put into this. the shading as always is really good. do you first draw with pencil then trace it with pen? I always forget to ask you that. I know I have to. It's so cool how you can make your drawing have depth. really nice

yeppers start always with a pencil..im not only drawing out the sketch but im also mapping out where my highlights and shading is going to be...once that is dont i start with basic outline and then work with light colors to dark..the rest is history..wink.lool. thanks for the great review.

Wonderful drawing. You are so right. It is the spirit of the game. This shows simplistic yet vital tools of the game. I love the bright colors. I'm a firm believer that often "less is more!" Well done.

Just curious. Have you ever gotten any unusual or just plain strange reviews from an artist named Bertodi on FAR?

Nice graphic image - bold and stark with imagery immediately recognizeable. Love how the mask and glove look like there is an invisible man inside. Also love the "S" shape to the baseball and the flower-petal-like look to the glove. Rule of thirds clearly observed in the composition. Good work! :)

rule of 3rds?...me?..by the way what is that?...lol. i know i sound ignorant..never had classes so i guess that was a lesson that i missed on too huh/..glad that you like and thanks for the great review

Even more impressive now that I know you are doing it by "artist's instinct" ;) The quick answer to your question:

    http://digital-photography-school.com/rule-of-thirds

It's a way of making a photo/artwork more pleasing to the eye by breaking the overall composition up into thirds (really it's ninths when you cut both directions - so I don't know why they call it "rule of thirds"?) When you study the great masters' paintings, you notice that they often divided their scenes up into fifths... I guess the point being is to keep major elements out of dead-center? (Except when you're doing a full-frame portrait, or still.) And then there's always times to break "The Rules"... ;)
