This is just plain beautiful. Love the blues of this find fellow. Great detail and good use of DOF. I think it is my monitor but it is a little dark to me. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice stop-action with good focus and light. Back ground effect is good, but more contrast with the subject would be nice. I'm sure the heron will redo his flight for you with a contrasting screen behind him ;) good detail. Nice entry. cainse

An excellent capture of a bird in flight. The subject is pin sharp while the background is softly diffused. While the bird fills the frame it still has space to fly into. Good texture in the plumage. Mitch

There is a magnificent elegance in the bend of the neck and shape of the wings here. In my mind it is soaring almost slowly, certainly magestically.

A truly exquisite and timeless image of this Heron. Great crisp focus in every detail of him from wings to eye.
Light is perfect with every nuance of color in him well seen and defined.
In flight his body assumes a focused curved grace.
Your image works well as it is but if it were me I would remove the brighter green leaves that for me distract from the beauty and simplicity of your image. Just a thought of mine.
I wish you the best in the contest. Bren

A really good, dramatic shot, with the motion of the heron frozen at just the right moment, giving out the maximum amount of energy and that 'surprise!' feeling when the wings swing up and above. Good colouring and composition--I love the poise of the bird, with the neck kinked and the wings spread and eyes focused. All the best!

Nice shot. The position of the wings and the feet make a feeling of motion a big part of the picture. Coloration is just right,as is shadow detail under the wings.Out of focus background emphasizes the bird.
