This is a great closeup of the dragonfly - I like the title you used - very apt. Yes,he does seem to be smiling. He has lovely colours on his body and in his gossamer wings, The softened background makes a good frame. Lighting and focus very good showing excellent detail in his markings. Very good composition.

I love dragonflies. This is a Common Green Darner. Although it's hard to see they have a distinctive "bullseye" spot in their forehead. Nice capture.

The background is very good. It is a mix of bright colors but not so bright that they challenge the subject. They compliment well.
Good focus throughout also. Wings and body details are crisp and clear. The story is simple and says to me -- ah ha Breakfast.

It is like you have given this your own personal touch. It is a lot to like here, but what I like the best are the fantastic colors which gives this photo such a strong impact.
Your photo is also pin sharp showing clear and well defined details both in the Dragonfly and the lovely pink flower. To top it all you have the great looking green background to set off the colors of the insect and the flower. The exposure is perfect, and I like the way the light is falling on the Dragonfly.
This is also a very strong composition, and I could swear that this Mosquito Dragon has a smile on its face. The tight framing is perfect, and the Dragonfly is well placed within the frame. An excellent shot with an excellent DOFF, and I wish you luck with the contest.

This is an amazing macro shot. Great color, contrast, and nice DOF. Good texture, excellent lighting and sharp focus. I love the fantastic details, like the design of the wings and the "hair". Well done.
